Playoffs are back in town

Blue skies, spring in the air and playoff finals, what more is there? It was a great day for hockey. 2004 spectators were gathered at Trio Areena for the game 2 in the Mestis finals of 2016-2017. It was a full house and the fans had to queue to get in. SapKo was stronger winning the game overwhelmingly 6-1. The scoreline indicated a one sided game, something that it was not. SapKo was simply more effective in front of the goal capitalizing from every opportunity that was given to them while Kiekko-Vantaa struggled when it mattered the most. Kiekko-Vantaa’s only goal was scored by Niklas Andersson. The series continues today with game 3 in Savonlinna.

Unfortunately I’m unable to attend games 3 and 4 and therefore no pick up from Trio Areena is possible at the time. For picture reports from the next 2 games, check out Riku Laukkanen’s pictures at Jatkoaika and Petri Saarelainen’s at Sapko’s webpage.
