Playoffs are back in town

Blue skies, spring in the air and playoff finals, what more is there? It was a great day for hockey. 2004 spectators were gathered at Trio Areena for the game 2 in the Mestis finals of 2016-2017. It was a full house and the fans had to queue to get in. SapKo was stronger winning the game overwhelmingly 6-1. The scoreline indicated a one sided game, something that it was not. SapKo was simply more effective in front of the goal capitalizing from every opportunity that was given to them while Kiekko-Vantaa struggled when it mattered the most. Kiekko-Vantaa’s only goal was scored by Niklas Andersson. The series continues today with game 3 in Savonlinna.

Kiekko-Vantaa not strong enough against league leaders SapKo

Kiekko-Vantaa lost 4-1 in front of 630 spectators in Vantaa against SapKo. The team is now at the 6th place in a very even competition. There are only 15 games to go before the playoffs start so it’s going to get interesting in the next coming months.

Heikkinen tries to deflect

Yet another tight and low scoring game when Kiekko-Vantaa welcomed SapKo to Trio Areena. The game had a flash-start when Gymer scored after only 16 seconds of play. Next goal game 28 minutes later when SapKo player Fonsén decided it was time to make his first ever Mestis goal. The game went to an overtime where both teams had their chances. SapKo was stronger this time by the hand of Jonatan Tanus. The game ended 1-2 (1-0,0-1,0-0) for the guests.
