Playoffs are back in town

Blue skies, spring in the air and playoff finals, what more is there? It was a great day for hockey. 2004 spectators were gathered at Trio Areena for the game 2 in the Mestis finals of 2016-2017. It was a full house and the fans had to queue to get in. SapKo was stronger winning the game overwhelmingly 6-1. The scoreline indicated a one sided game, something that it was not. SapKo was simply more effective in front of the goal capitalizing from every opportunity that was given to them while Kiekko-Vantaa struggled when it mattered the most. Kiekko-Vantaa’s only goal was scored by Niklas Andersson. The series continues today with game 3 in Savonlinna.

Kiekko-Vantaa vs. Jokipojat – Mestis, round 50 2016-2017 @ Trio Areena

Regular season ended in a tight no goal game in front of 1047 spectators. The winner was decided in a six round shootout by Oskari Lehtinen for Jokipojat. Kiekko-Vantaa finished the season in 3rd place and can rest before the playoffs start on Wednesday with a home game against the team in the 6th place.

Kiekko-Vantaa not strong enough against league leaders SapKo

Kiekko-Vantaa lost 4-1 in front of 630 spectators in Vantaa against SapKo. The team is now at the 6th place in a very even competition. There are only 15 games to go before the playoffs start so it’s going to get interesting in the next coming months.
